Jessie Nealen

I have always been drawn to people and strongly believe in the power of  community. Through family, friends, mentors and as a counselor, I have experienced the profound joy and power of walking with and learning from others. It is my sincere hope to walk alongside of you, help you discover your strength, and cheer you on as you work towards your goals.

I strongly believes in the inner strength, inherent dignity, and capability of each and every client I have the privilege of working with. My goal is to provide a safe environment where clients feel understood, accepted, and are able to grow. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, I help children, teens, adults, and families work through a wide array of issues.

I have a passion for working with children and creating an environment in which they can grow and thrive. I have been trained in Child- Centered Play Therapy and Child-Parent Relationship Training. I am committed to providing the most informed care to my child clients and am in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist. I also am passionate about working with teens and adults navigating life transitions, depression, anxiety, as well as other presenting concerns.

My education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with a concentration in play therapy. Through the use of evidenced- based practices, I believe in the importance of collaborating with clients and work to help you identify your own strengths in reaching your goals. I look forward to hearing from you, and the opportunity to walk alongside you as you take this important step.
